Ghanaians and other nationals gather for a vigil in memory of George Floyd and in support of the Black Lives Matter movement at Black Star Square in Accra, where an unfortunate turn of events marred the night with disruption and chaos.
While participating in the peaceful vigil, the organiser, Ernesto Yeboah, was arrested and detained by members of the Ghana Police Service and Army who when challenged by protesters demanding his release rough handled the protesters.
Later the protesters gathered outside the Accra Regional Police Headquarters demanding the release of Ernesto Yeboah and the police fired warning shots in the air causing the crowd to run away in fear and chaos, leaving some injured.
